Unable to order Xfinity Pro WIFI Extender via chat or website or phone

I realize its after 2am ET but its not on the West Coast and its not somewhere in Southeast Asia.  I've attempted via the Live Chat Bot to add this service/device to my account but every link thru the bot ends up with a page that doesn't load.  I tried merely logging into my account and adding it via that page.  Nothing.

I just want the Pro WIFI Extender, not the Pods.  The Pro WIFI Extender automatically rolls over my Internet connection to a wireless Cellular connection during an outage, I understand.  That's the service I want.  Was this called the Storm Ready before or is that a different service/device?  Is there a battery included for power outages or does that cost extra?

Help!

Thanks.

ventruejusticar Good morning! Thanks for reaching out to us here on the Xfinity Community Forum. Please know that our dedicated team here on the Xfinity Community Forum is all stateside and operates from 6 AM to Midnight EST. Your message came through while our department was closed for the night, but we're here to help you now.

I understand you're interested in adding the Pro WiFi Extender and have run into some issues. You're right on track – this is our Storm Ready WiFi device, and it's designed to give you that peace of mind with a cellular backup during internet outages. I want to clarify a few things about its availability. Currently, the Xfinity Pro WiFi Extender isn't available for direct purchase. It's exclusively offered to eligible Xfinity Internet customers who are subscribers of Xfinity Pro. For all the details, feel free to check out our Xfinity Pro WiFi Extender FAQs.

To answer your other questions:

  • Yes, the Storm Ready WiFi (Pro WiFi Extender) is the device that automatically switches to a wireless cellular connection during an outage.

  • Yes, it does include a built-in battery that can provide power during service interruptions, keeping your internet running even when the power is out.

Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Xfinity Pro is the service that I thought I said I wanted.  Therefore, it's confusing when you say you have to subscribe to Pro in order to get the Storm Ready, right?

So, once again, I'll repeat since it seems like I was unclear.  I want the Pro WIFI Extender because Xfinity in the past year or so has had outages around once every 1-2 months, more than ever before and I've been around for 13 years.  Maybe sometime in the future this service will just be integrated into every Home Gateway.

Can you order this for me via DM or do you want me to try AGAIN, the chat bot or the phone line?

ventruejusticar I appreciate you clarifying what you're looking for! My apologies for any confusion I caused earlier about "Xfinity Pro." It's completely understandable why that was unclear.

You're absolutely right to want a reliable connection, especially with those recent unexpected service interruptions you've had. Xfinity Pro is specifically designed to give you that peace of mind.

The great news is, yes, I can definitely help you get this ordered! Just send me a direct message with your full name and service address, and I'll get the ball rolling for you right away.

To send a "Direct Message":

Click "Sign In" if necessary

Click the "Direct Messaging" icon at the top of the page (it looks like a text bubble)

Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list that appears. The "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

Press Enter to send it
