What's the best way to get the Next Gen speeds sent to my modem?

My account info says I'm paying for 2100 mbps but my modem is only doing 945. It's an Arris S34, which is on the compatible list for Next Gen speeds. Per my modem's docs, it's showing an amber light (meaning it's not getting the faster speeds).

Do I need to call in? Create a support ticket? Figured I'd start here and see what people thought.

Thanks!

Good evening d18b 🙌 I appreciate you coming to our community for support, and we got your back! You're absolutely right that the Arris S34 is compatible for our Next-gen speeds, so you should be getting way more than half of what you're allotted with that modem. By chance is that speed you're getting consistent across all your devices on both a wired and wireless connection?

@XfinitySeth Hi! Yes! My Wired and Wireless connections are sitting at the same speeds. Call it low 900s...

Okay thanks for letting me know! We'll for sure want to dig a little deeper in that case and verify you're getting the speeds pushed through to your modem that you're supposed to. If you can, send me a direct chat message with your full name, the name listed on the account (if different), and the full service address associated with your account to “Xfinity Support”. To do so, click on the chat icon located at the top right of this forums page.

For Ethernet, are you using the gateway's 2.5 Gb port (red dot or stripe)? The other 3 ports are only 1 Gb and will only run at 940 Mb or so. And is the device you are hardwired to capable of 2.5 Gb or higher?

@BruceW Yes, I have the cable in the 2.5 port, tried the other just for troubleshooting's sake... No difference. My motherboard does have a 2.5 port and that's what I'm connected to.
