Xfinity hotspot

I am having an issue with hotspots.  I am out of town for work and I am trying to use Xfinity hotspots.  I keep getting pointed to Spectrum hot spots using the Xfinity app ...I tried logging on and nothing .. is this correct on the fact that Xfinity and spectrum share hotspots? If so why can't I log in

Hello fiftiy5o the Wi-Fi Hotspot feature in the Xfinity App will show nearby Wi-Fi Hotspots, but not all can be connected to. Since it is a Spectrum Hotspot, you would need a Spectrum account ID/password to login, like you do with Xfinity.

Lol, so how is Xfinity able to claim these as hotspots when you can't use them?

The Hotspot App function does search for secured public connections. Both Spectrum and Xfinity offer free secured hotspot access for their customers, but this does require the proper login to access.

While I understand that just seems deceptive. Because me knowing a hotspot is in my area means nothing if I have no way of accessing it .

That makes sense, and we can take your feedback on the Xfinity App to make improvements on the Hotspot functionality.
