Xfinity NOW Internet Support

Xfinity "NOW" Internet. Is there anyway to get a better Gateway other than the Used 14 year old ARRIS BX3 TG1628P I was supplied? This unit is not even supported by ARRIS or Infinity anymore as far as firmware and security updates, very unsecured and unsafe. Kind of sad and scary to have an unsecured internet Gateway ?

After using the only support you can get for prepaid “NOW” internet; which is “Chat”, for over an hour I got cut off during shift change I'm guessing? She was saying we will get you a New Upgraded Gateway and have it shipped to you right away and for me to hold on while she gets me the order number, then I was simply cut off from the Chat ! Was Xfinity NOW Internet simply created to extend its Free Xfinity WiFi Hot Spots Nationwide?

Thanks for reaching out to us, when it comes to the Xfinity Now prepaid service you're given a specific modem that works with the prepaid services.

If you're having an issue with your services, you'll need to reach out to the chat support team for the Now prepaid service

No, not a legitimate answer and numerous broadband cable modems will work with the NOW prepaid service if Infinity did not block them. As far as the only support for the NOW internet service being “CHAT”, well it is a joke to chat with someone out of the US that is menu driven with very limited knowledge and answers. I have waisted 10 plus hours on Chat with them and when they got backed into a corner and could not answer they simply ended the Chat and someone New would come on and say how can I help you wanting me to start all over: Terrible Customer Service which might contribute to as to why Comcast lost so many customers in 2025!

user_lex1vl  Thank you for your response. We can confirm that NOW Internet is managed by a dedicated team that is only reachable via the Xfinity Assistant (xfinity.com/assistant). They can assist with all things related to NOW Internet, including technical support.  Regarding your other comment, if, for any reason, your modem needs to be replaced, the NOW Internet team would be able to handle that as well. Generally speaking, if our modem needed to be replaced, you would not be charged.
