What happens if someone cuts my cable? Will my home still remain secure?

Hi user_6b1bb1 -

Xfinity Home is designed to continue to operate during both power and broadband outages.  The Xfinity Home Touchscreen has an internal battery backup in case of a power loss... and if your cable is cut, we also include Cellular Backup service free of charge.

All of your security sensors are battery operated and can continue to communicate with the Touchscreen during an outage. Touchscreen itself can communicate alarms via the Cellular connection back to the central monitoring station if needed. Certain features like the ability to remotely view cameras, control lights, etc. would not work until an outage is resolved - but all core security features would remain operational.

I hope that helps!

Hi there, @user_6b1bb1. Thank you for reaching out to us via our forums. We will be more than happy to answer that question for you. If you are speaking about the cable for the service in your home, it would require an internet connection as do most home security systems to work.
