user_49e681 Great question, yes, if you have a compatible Xfinity Camera and the latest version of the Xfinity app installed on your smartphone, you can talk through the camera to anyone within its range, even when you are away from home. This feature is called two-way audio.
Here's how it works:
Enable Camera Sound: In the Xfinity app, you need to turn on the "Camera Sound" setting for the desired camera. This will also require you to grant the Xfinity app access to your phone's microphone.
Access Live Video: Open the Xfinity app, go to the "Security" tab, and select the thumbnail of your camera to view the live video feed.
Use the "Talk" Button: On the live video screen, you will find a "Talk" button. Tap and hold this button to speak through the camera's speaker. Release the button to hear any response from the other end.
To enable two-way audio on Xfinity Cameras using the Xfinity app, follow these steps:
Download and log into the Xfinity app.
Select the Security tab and choose your camera.
Tap the gear icon in the upper-right corner.
Select Camera Sound and toggle the On/Off switch to turn on sound.
The talk button is not available on all my customers cameras any ideas the app has been uninstalled reinstalled the app is up to date. And the security tab is now the home tab any ideas how to fix customers device is also a Samsung android
Having the same issue. Talk button and Live button are gone on both our phones. One is a Samsung, one is a Motorola! This is a feature that sold us to go with these newer cameras. It's worked for the last couple years but seems to have disappeared in our last update. Xfinity NEEDS to fix this!
Hey there, user_4sphno, thanks for reaching out through Xfinity Forums. We would be happy to help with this issue. What model of camera are you currently using? Is the app up to date?

user_2de546 Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us here on our Xfinity Forums. I understand how frustrating this must be. I know I check my cameras pretty frequently with 3 kids at home. It's important to me that you be able to use your cameras. I'd like to do some app specific troubleshooting if you are missing buttons. Please send us a DM to Xfinity Support with your full name and address to get started.
To send a direct message: Click "Sign In" if necessary Click the "Direct Message" icon or https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging Click the "New message" (pen and paper) icon The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there. As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list. A "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line. Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window Press Enter to send it

All of our cameras no longer have the ability to talk through them. I have uninstalled app and reinstalled app. Please advise as to your response so that the cameras will be functioning properly again.
Thanks for reaching out — we know how useful the 2-way talk feature is, and it’s definitely frustrating when it suddenly stops working across all your cameras.
You’ve already taken a great first step by uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Next, we recommend checking out the guidance in this support article, which walks through how to set up and troubleshoot 2-way audio using the Xfinity app:
Make sure microphone permissions are enabled for the Xfinity app on your device
Confirm that your camera firmware is up to date
Test the speaker and mic function from the Live View screen in the app — you should see a microphone icon to hold and talk
If everything looks correct and it’s still not working, let us know which camera models you have and what device you’re using the app on — we’ll dig deeper and help get things talking again.

Here's how it works:
To enable two-way audio on Xfinity Cameras using the Xfinity app, follow these steps:
Repeat these steps for each compatible camera. Note that two-way audio is only available on the latest Xfinity Camera (xCam2) and the latest app version. Turn on camera sound and use two-way audio for Xfinity Cameras in the Xfinity app
Please reach out if you have any questions about this process/setup.
