Hey there, @user_am2nju, thanks for reaching out through the Xfinity Forums regarding your door and window sensor. If you're using the Xfinity app for the self-replacement, the Technician Code is generated from the touchscreen controller. On the touchscreen, tap
Settings > Advanced Settings > Technician Settings, then enter the Master Keypad Code to access the Technician Code screen. If you're unable to access that menu or the code isn't appearing, let us know what step you're getting stuck on, and we'll help troubleshoot further.

@user_am2nju Got it, and thanks for letting us know. Let's use the Xfinity app to add the sensor with the steps below:

Pair your sensor using the Xfinity app

  1. Sign in to the Xfinity app.
  2. Select Security, then Add equipment.
  3. Select the Set up sensors button and then Get Started to begin.
    • Your gateway will then be prepared to be paired with your sensors.
    • The Xfinity app will then prompt you to bring all the sensors you’d like to activate near the gateway for the best pairing connection.
  4. Select Begin pairing sensors.
  5. Remove activation strips to allow the sensors to pair.
  6. Remove or slide down the battery cover to remove the strip.
    • Lights should begin blinking.
  7. Select Next.
  8. The Xfinity app will now scan for the sensors.
    • Wait until all the sensors you are trying to pair appear in the Xfinity app.
    • This should not take longer than three minutes.
  9. Once all the sensors appear, the Xfinity app will walk you through the installation process for each sensor.

I don’t have the option to set up a sensor, just a camera if doorbells. Is there a phone number I can call to get a technician code?

user_am2nju No specific number. The Xfinity assistant may be able to help, but we can also assist with getting the sensor added to the account.

If you could send our team a direct message with your full name, the name listed on the account (if different), and the service address associated with your account, I'd be more than happy to look into this for you. Click "Sign In" (If necessary). Click the "Direct Messaging" Icon. Click the "Start New Conversation" (pencil and paper) icon. In the “To:” line, type "Xfinity Support". As you type, a drop-down list will appear. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list. An "Xfinity Support" graphic will replace the "To:" line. Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window. Press Enter to send it. How to: Direct Message Within The Forum.
