A26 Samsung phone - S8 46MM watch

Anyone have any experience with Samsung Watch without 2nd line ($10/mo discounted price)?

I want the S8 watch but with Comcast (USA), I am getting mixed response in-person and no clear chatbot/assistance.  I want to use the watch and not opposed to tethering the mobile data usage when out of range (just like my phone).    Hence on salesperson would sell watch without 2nd line while the other sales associate would not.

I want the S8 watch with Wi-Fi, Blue Tooth and Mobile Tethering support, not an additional line.  One Comcast Sales Associate and a very knowledgeable technical lead having transferred from mobile engineering, said yes.

After activation, of phone and purchase of protective case (ignorantly of protective case with wireless charging magnetic component), I went to store to purchase watch where the 2nd sales associate said they could only sell with addition of mobile line.

FYI, while the watch and phone are great prices, the $10/month makes this a lousy option i.e. a $7,200 option over typical life of watch.

CableCo10, Thank you for reaching out to Xfinity Support. I want to make sure I understand what you are asking. You would like to purchase a new Galaxy watch without adding a new mobile line, correct?

Yes XfinityAngel - of course the caveat is being allowed to configure and then use the Wi-fi and Bluetooth data, not the mobile or cellular data line in conjunction with the mobile OS owned and operated by Comcast in it's MVNO on Verizon.

No, you cannot activate or use a smartwatch with cellular capabilities on Xfinity Mobile without an active, paired Xfinity Mobile phone line on the same account. While the watch can operate independently, it requires a "Smartwatch Plan" ($10/month) attached to a parent phone line for activation. @CableCo10

Thank-you Dena, I wonder since my promo offer included a free mobile line for 1 years, do i just pay the $10 activation (enables the config button in the Comcast Mobile image) and then use that promo line offer as the feature integration?

Satureday 4/25/26 XfinityRichard posted in my other question thread - the following which belongs in this thread - "Good Morning, @CableCo10 Thank you for reaching back out regarding your activation question. Yes, you can activate the free 1-year unlimited line promotion, often for just activation fees.  You will need to add a new line to your account via the Xfinity Mobile site, which will trigger the $0/month promo,  requiring a compatible device."
