Is it possible to call an xfinity smartwatch from a verizon phone line?

I have an inactivated Xfinity mobile line. I ALSO have a Verizon mobile phone line.

I want to

1. buy a smartwatch device myself or through Xfinity, then

2. get a smartwatch line for it through Xfinity, then

3. call the smartwatch line from my Verizon line

Is this even possible?

Hello @NewKryptonite, thank you for taking the time to leave a post.  I completely understand why you’d want to be sure everything will work exactly as planned. Smartwatches and using multiple carriers can definitely feel confusing. The good news is that you can call an Xfinity Mobile smartwatch line from a Verizon phone line, as long as the smartwatch has its own active cellular line through Xfinity Mobile. Calls will work just like calling any other mobile number, regardless of the carrier. To set up a smartwatch, there needs to be an active, regular phone line on your Xfinity Mobile account, as each smartwatch must be paired with an active phone line during activation. Then a smartwatch line can be added. Once activated, the smartwatch can function independently. It’s also important to note that smartwatch lines are assigned their own new number based on your home address, and existing phone numbers can’t be transferred or ported to a smartwatch plan. I hope this helps bring some clarity, and I’m happy to answer any questions you may have along the way.

@XfinityMarshante Thank you very much, that was very clear.

Why do I have to have to pair the smartwatch with a regular phone line? Why can't I just have the smartwatch by itself as my 1 active line?

@XfinityMarshante and another follow up question.

Would it be possible to do these steps?

1. Activate my regular phone line

2. Buy and Activate a Smartwatch Line

3. Inactivate and Remove my Regular Phone Line

If I did this, would my Smartwatch Line still work fine?

@NewKryptonite You need to pair the smartwatch with a regular phone line for the initial setup and activation process. An active Xfinity Mobile phone line is required to activate the smartwatch, ensuring it can connect to the network. However, once activated, the smartwatch can function independently as a standalone device, capable of handling calls, texts, and data on its own. To add more smartwatches later, at least one active phone line is still necessary.

@NewKryptonite Yes, you can have a smartwatch as a stand-alone line with Xfinity Mobile by opting for the Smartwatch Data Plan. This plan costs $10 per month and provides 5 GB of high-speed data along with unlimited talk and text. However, to add more smartwatches, you must have at least one active phone line on your account. Additionally, the smartwatch must be a cellular model, and if you bring your own device, it must be disconnected from your previous carrier and reset.  Please click the link below for more info.
