Phone unlocking question.
I just had a convo with an online representative. They said I have to stay with you guys for 24 months and paid off my phone. Is this updated policy?
Context:
I was talking to a representative about activating my 1 year free mobile plan with my internet and getting a new phone. When I asked what is the requirement for unlocking the phone they said its 24 months and paid off the phone. But when I addressed the 60 days, and paid off like mentioned on your post they said it's only for when I transfer to Xfinity Carrier. So I got super confused, they were to about to explain but I have to get back to work. So can you help me get a clear understanding if I activate the promo plan and stay for 60 days and paid off the phone after that 60 days, can I get the phone unlocked? ( Thinking of getting the new iPhone 17 coming out soon )

Hi there, @user_ezli5p! The device unlock policy and information can be located here : https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/eligible-to-unlock-phone.
Specifically:
How do I unlock my Xfinity Mobile phone?
If you need to unlock your Xfinity Mobile phone, so it can be used with another wireless carrier, no problem. In most cases, your phone will be unlocked automatically within up to 48 hours of being paid off.
Here are the other unlock requirements to be aware of:
If you believe you’ve met these requirements, but your phone is still locked, please chat with Xfinity Assistant.
We don’t unlock phones for international travel unless the requirements above are met.
Only the account holder, Primary user, or a Manager on a phone’s original Xfinity Mobile account can request to have it unlocked.
Let me know if this answers your question!
