S25 ultra

I just received unlocked S25 ultra from Samsung and try adding it to my xfinity account. And it is telling me it is not compatible. How can this be if it is unlocked?

Same thing here. Received my S25 Ultra yesterday and was immediately unable to activate it online. Chatted with Customer support for and hour which got me nowhere. Went down to local Xfinity store to get physical sim but they said S25 Ultra is E-Sim only and i need to call customer support. Called customer support and the said my S25 Ultra is not compatible. They then tried to sell me a different phone that is compatible. After about an hour customer support called me back and said it could be activated on the 7th of February. As if that's totally fine.

All this while my wife took her physical Sim out of her S22 Ultra and put it in her S25 Ultra and has been using it just fine. I however am on an iPhone with E-sim and have no physical sim to swap.

I've pre ordered a lot of phones in the past and gotten them early. I have never had this issue before.

Honestly if they cant get it resolved today ill likely just look into going back to Verizon. Assuming Verizon doesn't have the same issue.

Good luck

Thank-you for letting us know this in advance.  I was going to trade-in my S21 Ultra (Xfinity) for an S25 Ultra (Unlocked) at the Samsung website and then put it on Xfinity mobile (replacing the S21 Ultra).  But now, that doesn't seem like a smart thing to do, since the S25 Ultras are arriving before Feb 7th.

Wouldn't have been easier to trade in my S21 directly with Xfinity, but you have to commit to 2 years with Xfinity, and the website dropped my S21 trade-in value after placing it in the shopping cart to purchase the S25 Ultra.  Very deceitful.  A weekend of research is before me.  Thanks again!

@user_rpqpsb I'm having the same issue. I decided to go unlock with Samsung because I'm going to start getting all my devices from the OEM I'd rather have an unlocked phone to be stuck with Xfinity I've been with them for 8 years. And I'm thinking about switching all my phones over to T-Mobile because I checked my IMEI with T-Mobile and the phone will work over there with no problem

I started with X mobile back with the iphone 12 came out I had three lines since 1/2024 I left and went US mobile $25 a month  best decision I ever made. Now me and my wife both ordered the S25 ultra from OEM. I activated my S25u via esim and my wife's who is still on xfinity mobile I could not do the same. I am either going to grab a physical sim or bring her line over to US mobile as well

Same. What in reading is that launch is officially 7th. They(Verizon/Xfinity) have to add iemi numbers. So we are a few days early. [Edited: "Language"]. But I'm not mad. Been using it without phone service and it's way better than s24 ultra. It's just smoother and runs so much better. Hang tight. We should have service soon.

Did you try just moving the SIM from your S24 to your S25 (assuming it was Xfinity)?

Hello, @user_5i195q have you verified the phone's compatibility using our compatibility page here?

Entering the phone's 15-digiit IMEI should provide its eligibility status.

Well obviously it isn't an e-sim because the phone came with the SIM remover tool in the box. But you'll probably have to get your hands on a SIM from them. You'll either have to go to their store or see if they can ship you one.

I had an S22 ultra and received my S25 ultra last Wednesday. I just swapped the SIM from the S22 to the S25 ultra and it works fine. I wasn't able to get the visual voicemail to work, which is why I'm here, but strangely enough, I just looked at it to see what error it gave me and it works now.

So if you already have an Sxx on their network, use the little tool to pop the SIM out and move it over.

Yo my S25 Ultra peeps.  Received my (Unlocked) S25 Ultra in the mail today 2/4/2025 before the 2/7/2025.  I am unable to to active eSIM as its saying that my phone is locked to previous carrier.  I guess I'll just head to xFinity store somewhere to get a physical SIM card.  It's such a hassle.  I was on chat support and I wasn't able to get pass the the verification URL where they ask for SSN and DOB.  I submitted my info more than 5 times with different agents and different devices and they were showing error in their system.

I went to the store on 2/6/2025 to tried to get a SIM card.  The verification process is such a pain when it doesn't work.  I showed my ID, my current phone with the service active.  Then they ask me to put in my SSN and DOB on a tablet.  It keeps saying my SSN and DOB is wrong.  They called tier 3 about my problem and made me put in my DOB and SSN on the phone and still failed the check.  I wasn't able to get the SIM card and wasted 2 hours at xFinity store.  It's very frustrating.  This might be the updated workflow to prevent SIM/eSIM swapping from happening.  I must'ved submitted my SSN and DOB working on activating my S25 Ultra the past few days like 10+ times and it worked once to my surprise.  The time that worked was through chat agent. Didn't resolve anything as they said eSIM activating is not available yet until 2/8/2025 and told me to check back again then.

It's 2/7/2025 right now and I still can't activate eSIM through the xFinity app.  Keep saying my phone is locked to the previous carrier when my phone is Unlocked.

Thank you for your feedback, user_b4xypw. The verification process will hold you back if it's not completed. To be sure I understand, is everything supposed to be resolved by the 8th?

And this is why this is my last year with Xfinity Mobile, I have decided that I'm going to get a locked phones moving forward but this right here tells me to Xfinity really wants you to get the phone through them so you can be stuck with them for 2 years and I don't want that. Granted I've been with Xfinity mobile since 2017 and have ran into lots of issues when it comes to upgrading new phones and I'm just over it

I'm still having the same issue on February 10th. This is so frustrating. I've had my S25 Ultra since 1/30/25 and am unable to use the unlocked device. I checked with Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T, and they all would be able to activate it.

They could solve it by activating physical sim and send it to customers meanwhile, if eSIM is not an option.  Unfortunately they can't even do that. We are all suffering because the way their system is designed.

@bulldog4791 In the xFinity app, did you locate your existing device?  Under there, there should be a switch device option.  After you put in the IMEI it would say something along the lines congratulations and activating.  Before 2/8/2025 it was saying my device was locked to the carrier.  After this part it's not intuitive on what to do next.  Just says to installed the xFinity app, which I already did, so it was confusing.  In order to activate your device from the app, go to Account and then go through the "Activate Mobile Device".  Your S25 Ultra should appear here as an option.

Thank you for reaching out. I am sorry you are having this issue @bulldog4791 Have you activated the phone through these other providers and they were successful in activation?

Can someone from Xfinity provide an official response on whether  SAMSUNG 25S Ultra 1TB unlocked can be easily activated by Xfiinity Mobile

??  Since Xfinity decided not to offer it for sale an official answer on this from Xfinity would be helpful, and NO stating putting in the IEMI number to check is a poor solution to a basic question when you didn't purchase the phone directly from Samsung (or from wherever) yet and therefore don't have an IEMI to provide.

@mdelcoll I can confirm that activating your s25 ultra can be activated, on the website it will or may show not compatible but when you actually go to a store or call in and place the order to update your phone there are no issues.

Thanks for the response. However, where are the Xfinity Mobile employee(s) confirming this? There are many other users stating this is not the case.

Thank you for reaching out to us @mdelcoll! I can understand wanting an official answer that doesn’t involve checking the IMEI. Although, checking the IMEI is an essential requirement to check if a device is compatible with the Xfinity network.

For more information on bringing your own device to Xfinity Mobile we have this dedicate article here.

Alternatively, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is available for sale.

Thanks but this response, clarifies nothing… the question still remains, and there is still no official response from Xfinity Mobile whether or not they can activate an unlocked Samsung S 25 Ultra 1TB purchased elsewhere since Xfinity Mobile does NOT sell the 1 TB model and only sells the  S25 Ultra 512GB & 256GB models…

Please confirm whether or not Xfinity Mobile has successfully activated any BYOD unlocked Samsung S25 Ultra 1TB models Yes or N?  Thx

This is not something I am able to confirm on my end. I recommend starting by checking the IMEI to ensure your device is compatible.
