Text Messages and Voicemails------Where are they actually stored?
Several parts to the question. Do voicemails and text messages reside only on my device? Or are they also on a server someplace in the Xfinity or Verizon system? I know that Xfinity leases tower time from Verizon, so that is why I include it in the question.
If I delete a text or voicemail, is it in fact really gone? Or does it still exist someplace in the Xfinity/Verizon system?
Also, how far back are texts or voicemails supposed to exist until deleted by me? I became an Xfinity mobile customer back in February. The device is a Samsung A36 5g. My "Expert" status is mostly confined to helping people with email. So any help here is appreciated.

Hey there, @Latoque! Thank you so much for taking the time to reach out to us here on the Xfinity Forums. Xfinity Mobile does not store the content of your texts. Your Xfinity Mobile account can display up to three months of text activity, such as the date, time, and phone number involved, but not the actual message itself. The message content is generally stored on your device and may also be included in a device or cloud backup depending on your Samsung/Google settings. Deleting a text from your phone removes it from the messaging app, although copies could still exist on another person’s device or in a backup. Some Samsung/Google devices do have a deleted folder to recover deleted text messages. From the Xfinity Mobile side, we do not maintain the actual content of your text messages.
Voicemail works a little differently because messages are handled through the voicemail system rather than only being stored locally on the phone. Xfinity Mobile does not automatically delete your saved voicemail messages. On Android, the mailbox can hold up to 20 messages. When you delete a voicemail, some Android devices have a deleted-message folder where it may remain temporarily, while others may remove it differently. Once a voicemail has been permanently deleted from the mailbox, it cannot be recovered through Xfinity Mobile.
Please let us know if you have any other questions/concerns, we are happy to help!
