voicemail currently unavailable

I recently transferred a xfinity landline # to xfinity mobile.  Mobile phone Samsung S9+ previously used on Xfinity Mobile with another number.   Voice mail is not working.  Message says phone number vm is currently unavailable and doesn't connect.  Tried uninstalling/updating app, force stop, clear cache, restart etc. Nothing helps.  How can I access or edit the voicemail system in order to set up it up to work?  Thanks

Mobile data is switched on although this phone, Galaxy S9+ primarily connects with wi-fi. Message is the same whether mobile data is on or off.    I also have an iphone & its voicemail works fine on wi-fi or mobile data.   Is there any way for Xfinity Mobile to reset the voicemail so I can set up and create greeting & pin?  Thank you for your response.

Thanks for clarifying, this link  https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/how-to-access-voicemail-android-phone also has great information on how you can access your voicemail on your Android device. I understand you've recently ported that number in which it was attached to an Xfinity landline, the voicemail option may not be available yet if you're still within the porting process. Let's go ahead and take a look at your account so we can see if your phone number's been fully ported off of your residential landline account. To get started to me a direct message with your name and complete service address

Here's the detailed steps to direct message us:

  • Click "Sign In" if necessary
  • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
  • Type "Xfinity Support" in the to line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list
  • Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
  • Press Enter to send your message

Hello user_na6283 so it sounds like we'ere stricly using the Xfinity App for this, have we tried calling the Vociemail line directly?

To access your Xfinity Mobile voicemail, you can dial *86, press and hold 1, or dial your Xfinity Mobile phone number. If accessing from another phone, dial your mobile number, press # during the greeting, and enter your PIN. You can also manage voicemail settings and greetings through the Xfinity Connect portal.

Voicemail cannot be accessed dialing *86 or hold 1.   Message states the phone number and says "This mailbox is currently unavailable"

How can I access or edit the voicemail system in order to set up it up to work?  Thanks

To confirm @user_na6283, is your mobile data turned on? Voicemail needs a connection to the cellular data network.
