2 Factor Authentication for Email
I wanted to set up 2FA when someone accesses my comcast email. I read instructions on the xfinity web pages and set up 2FA.
When I log into my xfinity account on the web, I get a text on my mobile phone. OK. But when I access my comcast.net email using my tablet, I do not get a text. So can email be set up for 2FA?? Or only logging in to xfinity?

This thread is the only location I have found that states 3rd party email access does not support 2FA.
To clarify, that would mean that when 2FA is enabled no 2FA occurs for 3rd party emails apps attempting to log in.
Why isn't this fact clearly stated in the description for the check box enabling 3rd party email access?
When 3rd party access check box is enabled, are users alerted when failed attempts to log in occur?
If not, can a bad actor use 3rd party email apps to guess passwords an unlimited number of times without any alerts?

I am not even able to log in any more, because when the BROKEN authenticator asks me to add a mobile phone number (WHICH IS ALREADY LINKED TO THE ACCOUNT), it says "that number is already linked to an active account." Well, DUUUH!! Are you guys trying to use AI instead of software devs?? FIX. YOUR. STUFF.
