Thank you for joining the Xfinity Forums community, user_e5npxb. If you forget your Xfinity password, you can reset it by visiting xfinity.com/password.

Please remember that using third-party email clients (e.g., Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird, etc.) to access your Comcast.net email address can potentially expose your Xfinity ID and password to fraud and other risks. We recommend you access your Comcast email by going to Xfinity Connect

Just to be clear because my wife is not the most computer savvy person I monitor all of her computer usage. I have a strong firewall and virus protection software to help keep it safe. I am her husband and I have been using Outlook to retrieve my Xfinity emails for many years. If I can log into Xfinity.com with her user name and password why does the setup of Outlook refuse the username or password during setup?

This makes absolutely no sense.

Please accept my most sincere apology for the experience you have encountered @user_e5npxb. If you are using the correct settings, you may need to reach out to the third-party email client support team. You can find the settings that we use for using a third-party email client by visiting our 'How To Set Up Your Xfinity Email Address With an Email Program' support page as well as how to toggle on third-party email access on our 'Turn your access to third-party email programs on or off in Xfinity Email' support page.
