Adding a mobile number for Two-step verification

I want to add a mobile phone number to several secondary email accounts in order to use Two-step verification.

When I get to the screen to add a mobile number it says:
“You'll start receiving automated text messages about your Xfinity service to this number, including billing and appointment reminders, and outage alerts. Message & data rates may apply. You can reply STOP to opt out at any time. Your mobile phone can also be used to sign in and confirm your identity.”

Does that mean if add a mobile number to 4 different secondary email accounts that I’ll get 4 text messages every time Xfinity sends one? I already have the primary account set up with a mobile number & don’t want to get blasted with a bunch of duplicate text messages that are generated by the secondary accounts. How do I control that?

It also says I can reply STOP to opt out. Where do I find that option?

Thanks

I have three email accounts and one mobile phone. When I try to use that phone number for the two-step verification for these accounts, Xfinity requires a different cell phone number. I'm not going to invest in another cell phone. What do I do?

Hello @user_50yw23, I hear you, I wouldn't add a new number just for that either. Are you still having issues setting up the two-step verification? If so, I'd love a chance to help you.

Good point about needing different cell phone numbers. I'm using 6 email addresses. Does Xfinity expect me to have 6 cell phones?

As far as I can tell they require a separate cell phone number for each email address that you want to set up two-step verification for.  Trying to use it for another email address on the same account yields: "Mobile Number is already linked to an active account".  This is crazy.
