Attachment clip has disappeared!

I have no button at all for sending an attachment just a lot of stuff I do not need  like background color. How do I get the attachment paperclip?

How are you accessing the email?  Are you using only the webmail interface and a browser?  On a desktop or laptop?  A phone?

@molarsolution

Down at the bottom of the Compose screen you should see a paper clip - for attaching files.

I am an xfinity/comcast customer also. I also have no attachment clip following recent chrome update to ver. 1206099.217.  I have shut down and rebooted my computer and opened my email via xfinity.com with sign-in. Problem persisits. The attachment icon does appear in my gmail account. Since this problem is wide-spread among xfinity/comcast users, it feels like this is an underhanded way to get customers to switch from xfinity/comcast to chrome/gmail.....    Has anyone found a fix for comcast users?

Hello @user_t1dsoj we know the importance of being able to use your email and send attachments, so we definitley want to ensure this is addressed for you. Have you tried to access your emails on an alternative web browser like previously suggested to see if the attachment icon is showing for you there? I am not currently seeing any known issues for this, so it should be working correctly. Are you able to send emails without attachments without issues?

Even though you don't like other browsers, we ask that you try using one so that we can pinpoint any problems.

FWIW, I'm using Firefox and the image I posted showed the clip.

@molarsolution I use Google Chrome web browser on my PC as well. Try these steps to verify you are using an "Up to Date Version of Chrome":

  1. Open Google Chrome.
  2. Click on the three dots icon, in the top-right corner and a menu will open.
  3. Hover the mouse over Help, and a sub-menu will open.
  4. Click on About Google Chrome. A New Tab will open.
  5. This Tab, labelled: Settings - About Chrome, will open a page to automatically check to see if you have an up to date version of Google Chrome. If you have an older version it will download a new one and install it automatically. Once this is completed, it may ask you to restart Chrome, closing all Chrome windows and opening again, refreshing all tabs.
  6. After verifying that Chrome is up to date; visit xfinity.com to login and visit the email section to compose a new message and see if the paperclip icon is still missing. The Paperclip Icon should appear to the right of the send button, at the bottom of the composition window.
  7. If this error persists, please share the Chrome version info here so we can continue troubleshooting this issue. I will paste an example below from my PC.

Example:

Chrome is up to date

Version 116.0.5845.180 (Official Build) (32-bit)
