Can I empty my Comcast email trash folder from my phone?

My Xfinity email folder is almost at maximum size (95%). I prevent it from exceeding this by removing large emails and immediately emptying my Trash folder. However, I can do this only on my laptop. When I delete an email from the Trash folder on my phone, it is indeed permanently deleted from my phone, but it still shows up in the Trash folder on my laptop, thus taking up space. When I travel without my laptop, I'd love to be able to make sure my email doesn't get too full.

So: Is there a way to delete an email from my phone in a way that also removes it from the Trash folder on xfinity.com?

(I use a BlackBerry Key2LE: an android Blackberry. Advice that would work on other Android phones would probably work here.)

Thanks!

English53 Hello and thank you for reaching out through our Xfinity Community Forum about cleaning up your email inbox. Yes, you can delete an email from your phone and ensure it is also removed from the Trash folder on xfinity.com. To do this, use the "Delete" button in the Xfinity Connect email toolbar to move the selected email to the Trash folder. You can also delete a single email directly by clicking the "Delete" button within the email. This will remove the email from both your phone and the Trash folder on Xfinity.com.

Thanks for the help. On my phone, I'm accustomed to using the phone's email program, and when I delete an email from its inbox, it shows up in Trash when I go to Xfinity Connect on my laptop. Are you saying that on my phone I should instead use my browser to go to xfinity.com, and then follow your instructions?

@English53 It doesn't hurt to do it in both places, but may be more effective to delete it via Xfinity Connect on your laptop.

I want to make sure I understand. Of course I can permanently empty Trash via Xfinity Connect on my laptop. My issue is how to do so when I am traveling without my laptop and have access only to my phone. Are you saying that I can't do that from my phone's email program? (When I try to do so, the emails seem to be deleted, but when I look at Xfinity Connect on my laptop, they're stored in Trash--and I'm assuming until Trash is emptied, they are still contributing to my overall Email Usage percentage, correct?)

   Are you saying that I should use my phone's browser to go to Xfinity Connect, and that I'll be able to see and empty the Trash folder there? Thanks.

@English53, From my experience you should be able to go into your trash folder on your phone no matter where you're at and be able to delete the contents in that folder, and it should translate to other inboxes if connected through third-party client.

I have a similar question. I have removed all but 7 emails on my Comcast account, but 9000+ still show up on my phone. How do I remove those or how can I refresh it?

@English53

I have an Android phone, and using a browser, I can double-tap the Trash folder.  Then at the upper right hit "Edit", and at the lower right corner tap on "All", then on "Select all Messages".  Then hit the trash can icon.  That should do it.
