Hi user_eg0tze, we’re really sorry to hear how frustrating email changes can be. You’re definitely not alone in feeling this way, and we appreciate you reaching out to ask. At this time, once an Xfinity email account has been closed or deleted, it cannot be reactivated, and we’re not able to restore or create new Xfinity email addresses. That’s why switching back from another provider, like Yahoo, wouldn’t be an option. We know that’s disappointing, and we genuinely wish we had a different answer for you.

For reference, you can find more details about Xfinity email access and account status directly on our website here: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/comcast-email-access

Unfortunately once you transition there is no going back.  You [obviously] still have your comcast.net email, and you're probably already fed up with ads.  You can take care of that two ways: an ad blocker extension specific to your browser and yahoo, or using a third party email app.

OMG!!! There is no way to go back! This was not very well thought out!

There should have been a warning that this was a ONE-WAY option!!!

Very badly done!

Very badly done indeed!

Thank you for reaching out here, and for your feedback. @Again is correct, if you are having issues with the Yahoo service there are options through them or third party apps to resolve any issue.

My comcast.net email accounts were migrated to Yahoo. No problem. But now I want to create a separate _____@yahoo.mail account.

Yahoo support told me I can't do that since my mobile number is already linked to the migrated comcast accounts. I would need a different mobile number to create the yahoo.com account. I only have one mobile number.

So it seems I can't create a yahoo.mail account unless I delete my existing Yahoo account which holds my migrated Comcast accounts.

Is there a fix for this?

I have been using Yahoo Mail for about three days and I’m completely dissatisfied with it. I want to return back to my whole Xfinity email. If I can’t do this, I think I might have to start looking at another Internet company cause I will not use something. That’s too hard for me to use

I think Xfinity or Comcast or whatever the hell you wanna call yourself has really screwed up forcing people to use yahoo if they don’t want it. This should’ve been a trial to see if I liked it but evidently you were saying I have to stay with it. As of today, I will be looking at other Internet service because this thing is too [Edited: "Profanity"] hard for me to operate. I can’t get rid of [Edited: "Inappropriate Language"] that I don’t want. I don’t like it

We understand why you are frustrated, especially if the Yahoo Mail layout is making everyday tasks harder. The migration could be declined before accepting Yahoo’s terms, but once the account has been transferred, it cannot be moved back to the previous Xfinity Email platform. Your **@comcast.net** address, messages, contacts, and folders remain yours; Yahoo is now the platform hosting the mailbox.

You do not have to use the Yahoo website or app, though. You can add the same Comcast.net email address to another email program, such as Outlook, Apple Mail, or another supported mail app, and manage your email there instead. Let us know what type of phone, tablet, or computer you use and which tasks are giving you trouble, and we can provide the exact steps for a simpler setup.
