Can’t send outgoing email

Incoming email is fine. Outgoing does not work. Was fine until a few days ago. Should my username and password for smtp be the same as my incoming email? The error message I get says the username or password is incorrect.

@user_nwgmxg Thank you for reaching out via our Xfinity Community Forums. There was a known issue with our email a few days ago but hit has been resolved. Are you still having an issue sending your email? If so, when you go to send an email are you using an email client like outlook or are you logged into your account at Xfinity.com?

Still can’t send email. Message says my username or password is incorrect. Neither has been changed. I am receiving email so why is there an issue with username or password?

... Should my username and password for smtp be the same as my incoming email? ...

Yes, these should be the same: the password you would use to sign in with for the UserID you're using to fetch or send mail. Some programs/apps have an option like "use same password for sending and receiving".
