Changing Internet Providers Email Address

I would like to understand Xfinity's policy regarding email addresses when we switch from Xfinity Internet to something more affordable?

"When you change your internet provider, keeping your email address depends on the policies of your current provider. Some providers allow you to keep your email address for free, while others may charge a fee."

Please see https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/using-email-only and https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/email-only-faqs. So far there is no charge for this.

Although you can keep your Comcast.net address, it would probably be best to begin migrating to one of the (often free) independent email only providers like Outlook.com, Gmail.com, Yahoo.com, etc. That way you wouldn't have to change it again even if your ISP changes.

Email isn't a line item on your billing statement meaning that it's free - for now.  Last June Comcast stopped giving email addresses to new customers and current customers are no longer able to create new email addresses.  And, in the past, past customers have had all sorts of problems with their email addresses. Sooooo, it would be wise to migrate to Gmail or Yahoo to be safe.
