Comcast Currently Unavailable

My emails stopped coming through on my iPhone and an error message popped up saying “comcast currently unavailable”. My phone is up to date on the latest update, no VPN, and I am still receiving emails when I check through the xfinity website. I tried deleting the app, resetting my xfinity password twice, and then deleting the account from my phone. The currently unavailable message still pops up when trying to add my comcast email to the mail app.

That's a pretty odd email issue, but I will do all I can and stick with you until we get a resolution for you. Let's try a few more troubleshooting steps together. In order to get started can you please send a direct message to Xfinity Support with your full name and full address by clicking the chat icon in the top right? Here's the detailed steps to direct message us:

• Click "Sign In" if necessary

• Click the "Direct Message” icon (upper right corner of this page)

• Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

• Type "Xfinity Support" in the to line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list

• Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

• Press Enter to send your message

As of yesterday I received the same error and I have done everything I can to try and get my email back.  I can send email but I cannot receive.  I can view and see all my email on the Xfinity App.  I just cannot receive any email on my IPhone15 since Saturday.  The error is Cannot Get Mail Comcast is currently unavailable.

I am getting the same unavailable message.  no vpn.  deleted email from iphone.  changed pw on website.  set up email again - am getting teh unavailable message.  it just started in the last week.  help.

Thank you for reaching out. I see you're having an issue similar to the OP. However, I see their issue started a year ago. It sounds like there could be a few things going on. Are you using Apple Mail, are you accessing our website directly to check emails, or both?

Having the same issue.  Just realized no emial downloads to i phone in 5 months.   outbound no issue..  all attempts to fix the issue have failed including delting and re adding the account

I’m having the same email issue. The Comcast tech had me delete my Comcast email from my iPhone so we could reinstall it. When trying to do so I get the message that Comcast is currently unavailable try again later. I’ve tried everything . Turned off WiFi, rebooted my phone  I don’t have vpn! Very frustrating The only way I can get email is by logging into xfinity on the web.

done that I am aware of.   went to X store the other day.   after an hour the guy gave up.   said something abt comcast email no longer being supported.

@user_6c77hu​ it eventually fixed itself. I just kept trying signing in and out and then gave up and it would work sometimes and then not work again. Eventually it started working consistently.

@user_f2kolx​ Did you ever find out what the fix is?  I am having the same issue and keep trying but email from Comcast cannot download to my iPhone...thanks for any guidance in advance.

I am having this problem too.  What is the fix.  I updated iOS, I can access email from website but not apple mail app. No vpn installed.

I resolved the issue by accessing my email on a website and confirmed that allowing third party apps to access is allowed!

I have the same issue for a couple of months, I tried to delete and add the account and I cleaned the email on the Comcast’s server ( 50% free) any suggestions?

currently it only works on comcast email server, not on any other Apple devices  (iPad and iPhone)

andrew2012- Please remember that using third-party email clients (e.g., Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird, etc.) to access your Comcast.net email address can potentially expose your Xfinity ID and password to fraud and other risks. We recommend you access your Comcast email by going to Xfinity Connect and clicking Email. Have you tried changing your passwords on the email client you're using?

I’m having the same error “Comcast not available “ on my iPad & iPhone. Works to log into xfinity website. I’ve deleted my email & tried to add (unsuccessfully). No VPN.

I am sorry to learn about this. You've reached the right forums for support. We can help. Have you checked if you have allowed access to the third-party client on the XFINITY Email website? I am having the same issue.  This started last week.  My VPN is not connected.  I tried deleting the email address and adding it back in.  It didn't work.  I have 4 Comcast emails I use for various purposes and 3 work, one doesn't.  I have an iPhone 12 Pro.
