email disappearing

Email in my inbox keeps disappearing after about a week.  I'm not deleting them and I didn't move them to a folder. Is there a setting I need to change?  Emails should stay there until I delete.

Are you talking about your Inbox in webmail?

Is there any device like a phone or tablet that might be downloading your email and then deleting it off the server?

Hello, @laura1234567. Just a few to double-check!

To start, log in to Xfinity Connect, and select the settings gear icon in the top right.
Select Email settings > Advanced settings. From here you can check/adjust POP settings as well as Spam filtering which might be causing the issue. Please note that messages left in the Spam folder for more than 7 days will be automatically deleted.

I'm not concerned about what is in the spam folder.  I used to view email on an old version of outlook. I bought a new computer and can't seem to link my comcast account into outlook so now I have to view via comcast website.  I do receive my email on my iphone however it isn't set to delete from server once downloaded. In fact, in the past if I inadvertently deleted from iphone I could always locate via the webmail.  I had emails in my inbox from june sitting in my inbox that I read that I needed to refer to and they are gone.  It doesn't seem like my inbox will keep email more than a week.

Is there a way to link comcast email to outlook?

Great question! To link your email to outlook, you will first need to make sure third party access is allowed. This feature can be accessed with the following steps:

1. In the top-right corner, click the Gear icon, then select Settings.
2. Click Security.
3. Uncheck the box under Third Party Access Security to prevent third-party programs access to your Xfinity Email, or check the box to allow access.

After checking the box to allow third-party programs such as Outlook to have access, we have this really helpful article with steps on setting up you Xfinity Email address with an Email program.

Thanks this setting was correct. Microsoft released an updated version of outlook and I was able to connect outlook to comcast so I don't need to go onto the comcast site. My folders even imported. However contacts did not.

I am absolutely livid with Comcast. They have deleted active emails (rec'd SAME day) from my INBOX 3 times now! I cannot recover them and they were important emails. [Edited: "Language"]

It always occurs over a weekend and when I suspect they do upgrades to their system. This is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE COMCAST. And of course, never any resolution whatsoever as they act totally ignorant around their actions. I've [Edited: "Language"] had it. [Edited: "Language/Inflammatory"]
