Email full even though I deleted a third of the emails

I keep getting the warning that my mailbox is 98% full.  I deleted two entire years worth of emails and that number has not gone down any.  I have logged out and back in, deleted the trash, and restarted my computer. Any suggestions?  Thank you

Hello, and thank you for joining us here for help with your Comcast email, user_9660lv! Clearing us space in your Xfinity email is easy to do. Just head over to xfinity.com, log in to your account, and look through your Inbox and Spam folders for large attachments or older emails you no longer need. Once you've deleted them, don’t forget to click the hamburger menu next to the Trash folder and select "Empty Trash" to permanently remove those emails and free up space.

If you run into any issues or have questions, our team is always there to help.

Thank you for the responses! I deleted 2GB more worth of emails (or that's what it was supposed to be according to the size listed). There was no option to empty trash.  I cleared cookies and cache, signed out, and opened new browser.  It went down to 94%, which is an improvement, but not what I hoped.  That will keep me going for a little while longer anyway.

Have you attempted up a filter for emails by size? This will allow you to locate all of the bigger emails and download them to your personal device before deleting them and freeing up space.

Yes, that is when I supposedly deleted 2GB worth of the largest emails. That was when my usage went down from 98% to 94%. There is not option to delete trash from the hamburger menu and there is nothing that shows

up in the trash folder.

@user_5lg28e You can attempt to submit a ticket with our Security Assurance at spa.xfinity.com under the postmaster option. Let them know you are having difficulty receiving emails due to lack of storage even after deleting larger emails.

It's there, perhaps not so easy to find. On a desktop or laptop, "Empty Trash" is an option on the Trash folder hamburger menu.

On my Android phone, I need to select the "Trash" folder, then "All", then the trashcan icon, and then "Yes" to "Delete permanently". I don't have any iOS devices and so don't know where the option hides on those.

Is there a number next to your Trash folder or is it just blank?  Remember, deleting just from your Inbox won't be enough. The space is used in all folders, so you'll need to delete from them as well.

There is no number next to my trash folder.  When I click on the hamburger next to the trash folder I see three options: Mark all messages as read, move all messages, and recover deleted items.  I have never seen an option to "empty trash"  I see the "empty trash" option on my spam folder.

I just tried to delete several years' worth of sent mail.  Maybe that will help.  There is still no option to "empty trash" after deleting.  Although, it does say that email will be permanently deleted.

Is there a setting to have old emails automatically deleted after a period of time?

Hey there, user_9660lv! Thank you for posting your email concerns here on our XFINITY Community Forum. Xfinity e-mail doesn't have an auto-delete setting for your Inbox or Sent emails, but it will clear spam after 7 days and Trash after 14 days. Please contact our Customer Security Assurance team if you are still experiencing an issue with deleting your emails at 1-888-565-4329.
