Hey there, user_49bcnw! Thank you so much for taking the time to reach out to us here on the Xfinity Forums. I am very sorry to hear about the experience with your email access. How are you accessing the email? Are you using a third party mail client? Are you able to access the email via connect.xfinity.com?

Question was not answered.  I found out that when I activated “safe browsing “ on my McAfee app for my iPhone, the imap issue of constantly needing my imap password for Xfinity, went away.  I don’t know why.

@user_49bcnw It seems like enabling "Safe Browsing" on your McAfee app might have resolved some underlying security or connectivity issue. Here's a possible explanation:

IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) requires a secure connection to sync emails between your device and the server. If there were any interruptions or security concerns—like an untrusted network or a blocked port—your email app might repeatedly prompt for the password. McAfee's "Safe Browsing" feature could be acting as a protective layer, ensuring a secure and stable connection, which might have resolved the issue.

It's also possible that the feature adjusted some network settings or filtered out potential threats that were interfering with the IMAP authentication process.

Here are some common problems and how to address them:

Incorrect Server Settings: Ensure that the incoming (IMAP) and outgoing (SMTP) server details are accurate. These settings are usually provided by your email service provider.

Authentication Problems: Double-check your email address and password. If you're certain they're correct, try logging in via a web browser to confirm there are no server-side issues.

Firewall or Antivirus Interference: Security software might block the ports or protocols needed for IMAP. Temporarily disable these programs to see if they are causing the issue
