email migration

Am I required to transition Comcast email over to yahoo?  If so, when is the cutoff date?   Who stores my email data when I migrate - Comcast or Yahoo? Will comcast email  system eventually be phased out, eliminating access altogether, except via Yahoo email?  If I don't migrate now, will I eventually lose all my comcast email accounts completely?  I switched one account over.  Now things I could do and see with my Comcast emails, I cannot with Yahoo.  I purposely had only 1 large file over 25M.  When Yahoo told me my migration is complete, I never saw an email indicating what happened to the oversize email and where I can recover it.  All the Yahoo ads makes it less accessible and enjoyable. Unless you pay for the ad free version, which is what they want you to do.  I hear the SPAM filter is extremely aggressive and you cannot change it or turn it off.  I now question making the move is worth it.  I have been a comcast customer for years, paying a lot but willing to for my emails.  If I switch to Yahoo for the rest of my email accounts, then I don't need to keep paying those high prices if I can access email other ways.  Please let me know what options are available and the future of Comcast email.

TJNypaver If you transition an email it is stored with Yahoo at that point, and no longer supported by us. At this time we don't have any plans to remove emails still with us that didn't migrate as well. If you choose to keep the emails and not migrate we currently don't have any plans on deactivating them at any point. Hope this information helps!

I have two emails (one business, one personal) and a separate business client with comcast email.  We are receiving daily SPAM email saying it is time to transition - but nothing with the "official Xfinity logo."  Several times a week the emails stop syncing with Outlook.  We have yet to receive the transition email for any of the accounts.  Whenever I search for a timeline - there is only a vague "starting in 2025 and moving through 2026" answer.  This is not acceptable!  There needs to be better information, especially for the many business customers who need time to make changes within their company structure.  The sad thing is how the powers that be at Xfinity feels this a great change moving to Yahoo (ad filled) services.  I am sure I am not the only customer who happily switched to Comcast from Yahoo because of Yahoo's lack of security and incessant ads.

Unfortunately, we can't give a definite cutoff time for migration to Yahoo! Mail.

As for "migration" emails, you need to periodically check the website for the official verified logo which will tell you when it is time for your comcast.net email to transition to Yah

Here is information regarding the transition to Yahoo! Mail:

And, from the Yahoo! page:

Good Morning, @user_07iqzq! Thank you so much for taking the time to reach out to us here on the Xfinity Forums! I completely understand where you are coming from, and the importance of having the email access that works for you and your business accounts.

Thank you so much @Again for sharing those details, and the links. You don't have to migrate to Yahoo Mail at this time, there would just be additional security features that would not be available with not making the transition to the Yahoo Mail. As mentioned, I would recommend checking the email on the online web client for the migration emails for the accounts. Please let us know if you have any other questions/concerns, we are happy to help!
