Email sitting in Outbox

Any email messages that I send with my Comcast.net account are never actually sent.  They just sit in the OUTBOX and there doesn't seem to be a way to make them leave there.  Is there a problem with the email server?

@FDSJr,

This morning’s issue affecting customers’ ability to send/receive their Xfinity email has been addressed. You should now be able to use your service as you would normally, including seeing any missing emails. If you continue to experience these issues, please let us know.

My email is still not sending when I try to send it through the comcast server.
