user_vl12sx Hello and thank you for reaching out via our Xfinity Community Forums. I am so incredibly sorry you went through that! Dealing with flight reservations is stressful enough, and then to be told your email might be getting retired? That's just adding insult to injury. I completely understand how frustrating and concerning that must be. It's truly disappointing when something that should be straightforward turns into such a complicated ordeal.

First, let me address the email situation. It's understandable that you'd be worried after hearing that. While Comcast (Xfinity) has made changes to how our email system interacts with certain third-party applications for security reasons, we are not retiring their email service entirely. What happened in your interaction with Delta was a miscommunication.

Here's a little more context about what likely occurred:

  • Increased Security Measures: Xfinity has implemented stricter security protocols to protect user accounts from unauthorized access. This sometimes affects the ability of external systems, like Delta's, to send verification emails successfully.
  • Third-Party App Access: In some cases, third-party systems encounter issues when trying to send emails to Comcast.net addresses. This is often related to the security changes and how those systems are configured.

Here's how we can move forward and address both the email verification issue and the confusion about your email:

1. Verifying Your Xfinity Email Account:

  • "Let's double-check that your Xfinity email account is active and functioning correctly. Please log into your email through the Xfinity website (connect.xfinity.com) to ensure you can access your inbox.
  • "We can also make sure that the security settings are correct, and that there are no blocks on outside email.

2. Addressing the Delta Verification Issue:

  • "Since the problem seems to be with Delta's system sending verification emails to your Xfinity address, we can try a few things.
    • "You can try contacting Delta again and explaining that your email is active. Ask them to investigate why their system is having trouble sending emails to Comcast.net addresses.
    • "If you have another email address, such as a Gmail or Yahoo account, you might consider temporarily using that for your Delta reservation. This would bypass the immediate verification issue.

I understand this has been a frustrating experience, and I sincerely apologize for the confusion and inconvenience. We'll do everything we can to help you resolve the verification issue and ensure you have a smooth experience with your flight reservation. Please, don't hesitate to reach out if you have any further questions or concerns.
