Extremely long delays---many HOURS-- to receive incoming email to my Xfinity address

My incoming emails are regularly being delayed by up to several hours. This is a VERY bad situation:( I'm elderly and often need to reach my children. PLEASE let me know how this can be fixed. My son who is very technical and is submitting this request, has saved the appropriate header/source information to help you track down this issue. My son has confirmed with 100% certainty that my highly delayed emails have in fact been sent--they are NOT sitting in outboxes. Please let us know with whom we can share a sample email source info so you can diagnose and solve this issue. Thank you very much.

Thank you for reaching out to us @user_7835wu! Waiting several hours for important emails to arrive would be incredibly concerning, especially when you're relying on email to stay in touch with family. I appreciate the detailed troubleshooting you've already done and the fact that your son has gathered header information to help identify where the delay is occurring.

A few questions that will help narrow this down:

  • Is this happening with all incoming emails or only messages from certain senders?
  • Approximately how long are the delays?
  • Are the delayed emails arriving in the Inbox, or are they initially being routed to Spam/Junk?
  • Are you accessing the Comcast.net email through the Xfinity website, an email program (such as Outlook or Apple Mail), or both?

this was a very consistent issue for several days. -all- emails sent to my comcast address from a specific, known, non-spam, non-junk, non-phish gmail address (my son's) that i've whitelisted on my contacts list were bouncing with an error message BL000100. i (customer's reasonably tech-savvy son speaking now) did a fair amount of research. the issue: comcast/xfinity had apparently put a block of google/gmail  IP addresses on its "return path reputation network blocklist." scouting around online, quite a number of other comcast/xfinity customers were reporting this exact same email issue, in the exact same timeframe--and their gmail IP addresses were all in the same IP block. sometime last night or today comcast/xfinity must have discovered/addressed/resolved this issue. at least for me now, all emails are being delivered and without delay. however: it would be -highly- desirable for some kind of communciation from xfinity to affected users explaining the issue, and, hopefully/presumably, some commitment that this issue will not recur.
