Gmail app connect issues

I have attached a photo of the message that I receive.

This is my mother's email address that I use to keep up with any electronic communications. She originally was the account holder, but isn't as savvy with this stuff. I need to keep access via the GMail app. I did follow all directions to set this up and it seemed fine until this morning. I checked for ab update to the app and there was nothing available. How do I fix this?

I understand that, but it keeps reverting back to an error on the server of the mail service, which would mean that they are passing the buck over to the Xfinity server.

I have went through the troubleshooting issues and found nothing wrong and was wondering, since there is a migration to Yahoo, if that was the cause. Have they started the migration?

The migration started slowly in June 2024 and will continue until probably June 2026.  The official email will come to your @comcast.net email address and a second email will come around 30 days or so later,  You should keep an eye on your comcast.net email at the website so that you won't miss the original verified email from Comcast/Xfinity.  A verified email will have the verified logo next to it.  Below is what that logo will look like along with information about the migration.

Here is information regarding the transition to Yahoo! Mail:

The migration has started in stages, so it is possible but to confirm you would need to look for an update in your Xfinity email.

Something else you may want to try is delete and then reinstall the email app. This will make sure you have the latest version.
