headline smart

We keep getting bombarded with emails from Headline Smart.  I don't open them, just mark as spam.  Problem is, just keep getting them in email.  Any suggestions on how to get rid of them?  Thanks.

@rufus97 Did you try the unsubscribe link?

I did reach out, and they've manually unsubscribed you.

rufus97 - We can help! Do the emails have any option to opt-out, or, unsubscribe? A benefit to Xfinity Email is that it lets you set spam blockers with a Comcast email spam filter. Spam Filtering places emails designated as spam in a separate Spam folder. Here is how you can set it up:

1) Open Xfinity Email.
2) Click the Gear icon Image of gear icon on the top-right of the navigation bar, then click Email Settings
3) From the menu on the left, click on Advanced Settings.
4) Click the Automatically move spam and potentially harmful messages to the Spam folder option.

Note: Enabling Spam filtering will move emails designated as spam to the Spam folder and delete them automatically after seven days.
I hope this info helps!

Hi.  Actually, Alex replied on Friday and he unsubscribed it.  I hadn't tried the unsubscribe because I kept marking them as Spam, but for whatever reason, that didn't work.  I did check, and I have the Spam already correctly set.  But, thanks for replying.

Can someone at xfinity please help me unsubscribe to HeadlineSmart? I use Outlook, not xfinity email. I have them marked as junk so the messages do go in my Junk folder, but there are so many - about 15 today thus far. I tried to unsubscribe at the link provided in one of their emails, but it never confirmed and seemed to put me in an infinite loop.

@Kathleen_E Send me a DM with your email address, and I'll reach out to them.  I'll advise their ESP (company that sends their emails) that unsubscribes are not being honored.  Thanks

Click on my name, on the right side, there should be a three-dot menu.  "Send Message' in that menu.

The unsubscribe in their emails takes you to articles and not anything you can unsubscribe from. On the site if you search for unsubscribe it takes you to an article that says you’ve been unsubscribed but the emails do not stop.

It got so bad with Headline Smart I switched back to Thunderbird for my email. Unsubscribing from HS on Xfinity email didn't work and marking it as junk in Thunderbird hasn't stopped them from sending their JUNK either. I like using Xfinity email and hoped I could get away from the spam on T-Bird. Nope, they're not going away yet.  If I want to read the news there are other options that will not annoy me. Headline Smart is like The Enquirer of online news.

@user_lmrc23 You do have the option to create a filter in webmail to discard unwanted messages.

I've been in contact with their ESP, and they know there's an issue with unsubscribe, and they're working on it.
