How to Delete multiple contacts in my Address Book

Back in May of 2021, HectorC inquired how to delete multiple contacts from his address book and was basically told (by Xfinity Support) that you are restricted to deleting one at a time, due to a "safety and convenience feature". I find this ridiculous and would ask Xfinity Customer Support to please weigh in on this topic. If this is indeed the rationale, then Xfinity needs to modify their software to allow this convenience. To go through ones address book and delete contacts one-by-one, is counterproductive and a waste of precious time. If Xfinity refuses to make this simple and industry-accepted feature, then I will unfortunately have to dump Xfinity/Comcast and enlist with a seemingly more progressive company like Google (Gmail).

Hello, @allnfun! Thank you for your feedback about deleting multiple contacts at one time. At this time, they do need to be deleted one by one. You can see the instructions to delete a contact from your address book at this link, https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/delete-contact-universal-address-book

Delete a Contact From Your Address Book

  1. Select the Address Book tab.
  2. Select the contact(s) you'd like to delete from your Xfinity Address Book by clicking the checkbox to the left of their name.
  3. Click the Delete tab located in the Address Book toolbar.
Delete tab is at top center. Checkbox is at left.

Note: A contact removed from the Xfinity Address Book may still appear for up to 24 hours when clicking on the To button to compose a message.

There are not any boxes beside the contact entries as it appears in above screen shot.  I can only delete on at a time - total waste of effort and time.

user_9c0645 Thank you for reaching out. Just to clarify, when you click on the first contact you want to delete are you able to click on any others, even if there isn't a box, to higlight multiple contacts to delete?

Just checked and, no, only one contact can be selected at a time, i.e., the first contact loses the highlight and the highlight goes to the second one selected.

Thank you for letting us know, @user_9c0645! At this time, I'm going to suggest providing feedback directly within the link we shared earlier, describing the steps that include clicking each checkbox. I'm speaking of the article titled, Add or Edit Email Addresses in the Xfinity Address Book. Near the bottom of the page, you'll see a place to provide feedback.

If you select "No," you can then select the reason why. I encourage anyone within the community experiencing the same issue to follow these steps as the quickest way to collect everyone's feedback. That way, we can address and/or correct the article as necessary. Thank you!

I am still unable to select multiple contacts and delete them all at once. Your software needs to be modified!!
