how to get rid of the "do you want to permanently delete the email" warning message
In the past, when I highlight an email and hit the trash icon, it would instantly be deleted.
Today for the first time, I am being forced to hit a second message in order for it to leave my inbox.
Is this a new security action that has been added? If so, I do not wish to take this second step as it is redundant.

Email deletion settings program Xfinity Email to remove old messages from your Spam and Trash folders automatically. These settings apply to the date of the email; the settings are listed below.
Spam: Seven days
Only flagged Spam will be deleted after seven days
Trash: 14 days
Note: Email deletion settings cannot be customized, and the default settings above cannot be edited. Inbox and Sent messages will not be removed automatically.
I noticed that when I clicked delete, my email went into the trash folder. I didn't get a popup asking if I'm sure. Now, if I go to the trash folder and click on the email there, It does give me that message of "Do you want to permanently delete this email" warning.
Is this the same place you are getting the warning message?

In webmail, check to see if
(gear icon) / Email Settings / Mail / Behavior / Permanently remove deleted emails
is checked. If it is, you'll get that message, and deleted emails don't go to the "Trash" folder, they go directly to the hidden 30-day "Recover Deleted Items" folder.
