I empty my Trash folder everyday, I still receive a message that my mailbox is 98% full. Why?

I've moved the emails I wish to keep into folders and have been deleting over 2,000 emails so far. Yet, I still see the message everyday morning, telling me to delete emails. I am deleting continually. Why aren't my emails I delete gone forever from my computer system?

Are you doing this on the website?  Have you emptied the Trash?  Those emails that you've moved into folders also count toward that 10GB of space.

The word "website" in my initial post to you is a link that goes to webmail [ https://connect.xfinity.com/appsuite ].  My question was, are you going to webmail to delete your emails or are you using a third party email app like Outlook, Thunderbird, Apple Mail?

madelainet Thanks for reaching out to let us know about the issue you are experiencing with your email folders. Can you please tell me if you are using the Xfinity website to check and delete your messages or are you using a 3rd part client such as Outlook?

I'm not using any third party mail app. So it must be webmail through Xfinity.

Did you also look to see how many emails are in your Sent folder?  Most people forget about that one.

Yes, I'm looking through and deleting my Sent Folder. There is still quite a bit in there as it really does add up!

So I decided to go back into "Sort" and after 4 hours of reading and deleting many more MB emails,  20 quite large MB's, and many more of the KB's, I had to stop for the day.  I went back to check my Inbox for emails. There was only one new email. The Postmaster of Comcast sent me an email (the first email I've ever received from the Comcast Postmaster), saying I've reached 95% usage and it's advisable to delete emails so I don't reach exceeding status.  Interesting that I never received any emails a month before advising me to delete emails as I was at 98%. Thank goodness I accessed this site where the advice I received was to go to the circle icon to the right of my screen, click on it, and it will tell me what percentage usage I've met. I will check that icon every couple of weeks from now on.

Thank you all so much for coming to my aid and the many suggestions I've followed throughout this ordeal.  Each one has been beneficial to me!

Assuming you are looking at the webmail interface, if you move your mouse pointer to hover over each of the folders, it should tell you how many emails are in that folder.  Have you tried that?

Yes, I did that procedure over each folder a couple of days ago and removed  MB emails/photos that are no longer relevant.
