user_fpj26i Thanks for reaching out. Your settings to compose an email message may have been changed. In your email web portal, go to settings (the gear icon in the upper right), choose email settings, go to compose under mail, and ensure the 'Format Emails as HTML and plain Text' is selected. Once that is selected, try to compose a message to see if your formatting options are back.

Have you tried clearing your cache?  Tried a different browser?

I did clear cache, in fact I lost all my faves on my xfinity email page that I go to daily!!!

another browser? I cancelled my duckduckgo so i could find a solution here. It seems I had a microsoft update about the same time as this happened. I'm so confused, a senioe citizen...

You most likely are using the browser installed on your computer, which is probably Microsoft Edge.  When I say "using a different browser" I mean something other than the one you are currently using.  However, I think that if you close your browser down, and restart your computer you might see that tool bar re-appear.  Give that a try and let's see what happens.
