I need help setting up my email on my iPad and iphone

I feel like an idiot. I used to be able to do this stuff. I have a Mac and email is working. My email was working on my iPhone but I deleted it. I have a new iPad and I need it there. I used to have imap but I can’t find it. It just seems to be pop just comes up. It is set up in imap on my MacBook Pro and on my old iPad that will be reset. But I need the email set up in imap on my iPhone and iPad Air. Any help would be appreciated.

Someone from Advanced Techical supports just called me. It seems that when you are setting up email on an iPad or iPhone, you must add new account then add a bogus password. You will receive an error. Click okay then choose imap at the top of the box and in the host name choose imap.comcast.net. Your user name is your full email address always. Add your correct password. Your incoming port is 993 and your outgoing port is 587. I tried to remember as best I could. If all else fails, call XFINITY and go thru the support until they give you advanced support. I got someone who knew exactly the workaround.

If you don’t go thru those steps with the bogus email, the choice for imap will not come up and your devices will not sync.

I tried all this too--and everything works except that I don't see a place to add 587 as the outgoing port. Is it possible I don't need that?  Thank you!

@user_fyw4sl This is a great question. You will need to ensure you have all the correct settings for your email program to work. I have a link with the steps for setting up an email client you to view. You can select the steps by the device you have.  https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/email-client-programs-with-xfinity-email

The advanced tech told me the correct menu doesn’t show up automatically. Ya have to enter a bogus password in the password field then the next screen shows up with imap on the top right and pop 3 on the top right. There must be some kind of bug in the iOS software or they just want to push you toward iCloud email.
