Images in emails not displaying or showing up as a Box with a ? in them

Whenever I open an email with an image, it shows up as an empty box with a "?" in it.

Any ideas?

Could not find anything in Support or FAQ's

@user_lve6pg Thank you so much for letting us know you are still having this issue. There should be two boxes that need to be checked. If you could Go to webmail: https://connect.xfinity.com/appsuite/

Once you're there click on the gear icon and then on Email Settings

In the left pane under Security and then in the right pane under Mail, make sure both items have a check mark.  If they don't have check, put one there.

Sign out of email, then close your browser.

Restart your browser and sign in to email again.

If that doesn't do it, try clearing your cache and cookies, sign out of email, close your browser, and then restart it for a new session.

Yup all boxes were checked. Cleared cache and cookies and did all the rest, but I've done that in the past to no avail. However, It's currently displaying images, so I'll keep my fingers crossed whatever was wrong has been fixed. Thanks Much!

The concern is not "Community Knowledge Base" related. Topic moved here to the proper help section for assistance.

Thanks Emily,

That box was checked.  I would say that 90% of the time the images are not viewable, but every once in a while they are.  Which is slightly maddening.  Still happening today.

Thanks for trying!

What browser are you using?  If Chrome or Edge, try Firefox.

I have the same problem with images not showing up sometimes but do other times - from the same sender!  I followed the instructions above, both boxes were checked. I use Safari browser. This problem is truly annoying!

Can you try a different browser?  Are you using Safari on your phone, laptop, or other device?

Add me to the list - I've tried the suggested fixes (already had both checkmarks, cleared cache, etc.), I right click on the image and choose "load image," but it won't load.  This is in Chrome.  I tried Edge, and the image does load in Edge.  But I use Chrome for 99.9% of my browsing, so this is a problem for me.

Yeah, it seems random.  Chrome, Safari, etc, it doesn't matter.  Some of these messages hit my Comcast email account, and either another gMail account, or a really old Yahoo mail account. This problem never occurs on either of those.  So it seems to be something solely with the Comcast email system. Other than that, this issue is above my pay grade.  I hope they investigate and resolve it sometime soon.

I am using Safari on my iPhone and iPad.  The images should open on all browsers!

At home I have a brand new Mac mini, and my wife has a two year old iMac. At work, I have the most up to date MacBook Pro laptop and a Mac Pro. My neighbor has a fairly new PC and it happens to him too.  This issue seems to happen on all hardware & OS.  I don't think it has anything to do with those variables.  The fact that it does not happen on your iPad just adds to the mystery.  And like we've been saying, it is hard to track down because it feels random.  For now, count yourself lucky. It may just be a matter of time before you start seeing it... Or rather 'Not seeing it'!
