IMAP Server Email Sync To Outlook

For the past two days, my three PCs and smartphone cannot access the IMAP server to download emails. I can't get through to tech support. There is nothing wrong with the passwords on my devices. What is going on? Why have I been locked out?

Are you able to log in on the website? https://connect.xfinity.com/appsuite

Hi There,

I have always been able to access my email via the Xfinity web app, and yes, I can access it via the link provided. The issue has been not being able to connect to the Xfinity IMAP server to download my email to Outlook on my three devices, which are a Dell laptop (windows 11 Pro), a Dell desktop (windows 11), and my Samsung S21.

After changing my email password, I finally was able to speak to L2/L3 support. I was directed to remove the Comcast account from my desktop outlook. It partially reconnected through the control panel mail (Outlook email). However, I failed to add the account and connect through Outlook directly. I removed the account from my phone only to find I could not add it as it would not get past the server and sync "failed to connect'.

After a week, I came across an article on turning the Xfinity email security setting for third-party apps off and then on. I later tried on Feb 12, to add the Comcast account back onto my smartphone, it worked, and so did my PCs. This morning I found the account removed from my phone and only added by changing the incoming port from 995 to 993.

It's great that folks try to weigh in and help. Gone are the days when you could speak to a US-based SME over the phone and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
