Inbox deleting mail

My email inbox is deleting email from today, 1/12/24 back to 12/22/23! What is going on?

My inbox is deleting all emails after about 3 weeks.  Please help - I've tried searching everywhere for settings to stop this from happening.  It is an IMAP and not a POP account.

@cindy-dyck 

What kind of device/computer do you have the account set up on?  What client are you using?  Try disabling the account in the client and see if the problem persists using only the webmail interface.  As for the ones being deleted, are they in the Trash folder?

I had to open a new email account because I couldn't send emails from my iphone.  So after I opened the new account this started happening. When we found out it was happening my husband changed it from POP to IMAP, but its still happening.  He did just find settings in an old POP  account and took off the delete after 14 days so maybe that will help.   I have my email on my phone and on my desktop (Dell running windows 10).
