Is there a way to keep my email?

Hello,

I got my Xfinity email account when I was a teenager in the mid-2000s. The primary account holders were my grandparents. I have since used that email for almost everything, including professional services which require I access my email. Now, as my grandfather approaches the end of his life, I am concerned that my email will vanish or otherwise become inaccessible. I have another Xfinity account which I got later when I moved out and needed internet service at my house, but since I already had my first email account tied to so much of my personal and professional life, I continued to use it.

My question is: Is there a way I can either keep my original email after my grandfather passes away, or is there a way I can forward all emails sent to that one to my newer one?

Thanks for posting on our Community Forums, erika07. You've reached the best team for assistance with your email concerns, and I'm sorry to hear about your grandfather. I can only imagine what you're going through, my condolences. To answer your question, once an account is canceled, you can keep the email. Simply log in to it using the Xfinity Email website, and then do so again at least once every 12 months. I hope this helps.

"... then do so again at least once every 12 months ..."

That's not quite correct. https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/using-email-only says:

... you can still use your Xfinity Email address if you logged in to your account using the Xfinity Email website in the 90 days prior to disconnecting your service. Your email account will remain active if you access it using the Xfinity Email website at least once every nine months.

Although you can keep your Comcast.net address, managing the email may become problematic if it is no longer connected to an active account. Consider migrating to one of the (often free) independent email only providers like Outlook.com, Gmail.com, Yahoo.com, etc. That way you wouldn't have to change it again even if your ISP changes.
