make an email account

I spent hours today trying to find out how and where to make an email account for Xfinity.  I was on chat with at least two reps and I still do not have an email account.  Today is my first day as an Infinity customer and so far not a good experience.

June 2024 Comcast stopped the ability to create email accounts.  The best you can do is create an Xfinity ID.

I suggest heading to Google [mail.google.com] to create an email account.

@Again Well, that is a bummer,  but after posting I saw that.  I guess Xfinity does not train their agents very well or at least give them the resources to search when someone inquires.  I must have spent at least an hour and the poor girl was trying hard t find an answer.  Everything she told me failed.  Like their information is not up to date.

Good day user_ie85mh 🙌 Thank you for taking the time to reach out in our community, and even more so being a new member of the Xfinity family! The last thing we want is for your time with us to start off on the wrong foot, so I apologize if you got some conflicting information regarding our email services.

As our Expert Again had mentioned, we stopped providing customers with the ability to create new email accounts as of June 2024, but if you have any additional questions about your new account or services, please do not hesitate to ask!

@XfinitySeth So today I started with Xfinity. I was told by the sales person I could create up to 4 new email addresses AND showed me on his screen my Comcast email address the system created. [Edited: "Personal Information"]So that was all just a lie???

Perhaps, or maybe the employee had been misinformed or is just not up to date. Comcast/Xfinity announced this change in https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/account-email-information but failed to notify customers (and perhaps employees) of the change.

I don’t feel that the agent I talked to on the phone before going to the store and the store employee ( both telling me the same thing) where just not “up to date” on a policy change over a year old. [Edited: "Inflammatory"] LOL Also why would the bot in my app show me a Comcast.net email address for my account? I didn’t put it in there??? Anybody from COMCAST out there to explain this? The store was 2 miles from my home not the Philippines [Edited: "Inflammatory"]

I suppose that can happen when a company gets too large.  One would think it important to keep your support people up to date.  The page I saw said the move was made June 2024, a year ago, more than enough time to inform people in the Comcast organization, then again support is most likely farmed out to a company overseas.

It's definitely never our intention to mislead or miscommunicate any information regarding your account or it's benefits, but I understand where you're coming from and appreciate the feedback! We'll make sure to highlight this as an area of importance for the future, but please let us know if there's any other way we can help!

Yes. If Comcast no longer issues new customers an email address why did give me one when I started my account? The one that is linked to my account. If it isn’t real. It’s not as if the sales person made it up. Comcast did. This is at the corporate level!!

If you were an Xfinity customer at any point prior to June 2024, then it would be normal you to receive a comcast.net assigned email address.
