No, they still mostly going to trash.

I can move them then to the INBOX, so I can receive them in Thunderbird.

To fix this, first check your Xfinity email filter rules and delete any that might be misdirecting emails. Since you are using Mozilla Thunderbird Mail, review its settings to ensure it's not set to move messages to Trash.

Check your Xfinity email filters: Log in to Xfinity Webmail, go to the gear icon > Email Settings > Filter Rules, and disable or delete any rules that might be moving emails to the Trash folder.
