online. communication. email@ comcast. net
Just got an email from online. communication. email@ comcast. net titled "Urgent Message from Comcast". It says an update is required and includes a button. Seems suspicious but it is very well done. None of the obvious signs of a scam beyond I've never gotten something like this from Xfinity before.
Anyone know anything else about this?

The email "From:" address cannot be trusted because it's very easy for scammers to fake.
If you check your email with Comcast's Xfinity Connect webmail (https://connect.xfinity.com/) look for the XFINITY Verified Email logo next to any message that claims to be from Comcast/Xfinity. Note that anyone can insert an XFINITY Verified image in the body of an email, so it's important to note not only the presence of that image, but that it is in the correct locations:
See https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/comcast-verified-email for examples of valid logo placement. A logo in the body of the email does not count.
If the logo is missing when you view the message in webmail, the message is not from Comcast. Unfortunately, AFAIK the logo is not present when you view one of their messages in an email app or program. It's only visible when you use their web email site.
Samples of recent scammer phishing messages can be found at https://internetsecurity.xfinity.com/help/alerts under "Top Phishing Scams".

Thank you BruceW.
It is missing the XFINITY Verified image which is about the only thing that makes it look suspicious besides the general getting an odd email that asks me to click something. Other than those things it was very well done. I reported it to abuse @ comcast.net if that does anything.

I cannot use my main email anymore! It says it is off line and does not recognize name or password but does show up on Xfinity site.
I went on comcast site to look for help, stated need to change password due to data breach? I did and said all set. but still cant get or send emails on my mac thru this email.
Im exhausted working on this. Comcast offers no help. I will try agin tmr? experience with speaking with people for help has been difficult...they cant seem to get me to support? Do I keep trying ?
This has been my main email...what do i do ?
