Outlook 365 issues
I got a message that I needed to change my Comcast password, so I did. I believe it also turned on 2-part identification. Anyways, I can no longer get my emails on my pc, using Outlook 365. I can on my phone, and using webmail, but I like all my emails to go through Outlook.
The message I get says: "We couldn't connect to the Outgoing (SMTP) server using the specified encryption method. Please check the outgoing (SMTP) server encryption method and try again."
I'm using port 465, have tried 587 as well.

Hello @user_6v24a6. Please try updating your password on Outlook to the same one you now use for your Comcast password.

I am having the same issue. I have removed the account and tried to add it back to outlook 365 using the same password as my comcast account.
Numerous attempts have been made to add the account. All fail saying the connection to the server (imap) was dropped.

Your post got me to thinking about whether the 2FA is the problem with using Outlook.
I have 3 comcast email accounts -- 1 main account, 2 user accounts for different purposes. The main account has 2FA, while the other 2 do not.
I recently changed my comcast emails, for safety reasons. Outlook worked fine until a few days ago -- my main account will not work, while the other 2 accounts are fine!
I logged into Xfinity and turned off 2FA, but Outlook still didn't work.
But I wonder if that is part of the problem.
I have the Blue Mail app on my phone and it is working fine with my comcast accounts.
I'm really confused... and Outlook doesn't seem to have an option to update / check my comcast password.

I just fixed my issue! I changed my comcast password in Outlook -- the problem was finding where I could do that. I found it here:
Why can't I change my password to Comcast email in Outlook??? - Microsoft Community
I opened Outlook, pressed Ctrl-Alt-S
A window popped up with a description, I clicked OK
There was a menu to add/edit, etc my accounts. I selected the problem account ( I have 3 comcast accounts -- 2 worked fine, 1 didn't work).
I input my new password, and clicked OK.
Then my Outlook did send/receive and I now have my emails!!
Maybe this will work for you?
