outlook cannot connect to server

This has been going on for about a month, ever since we got new xinity modem.  I only use outlook for the microsoft games.   (This may seem trivial.) Says there's a problem. with my account.  I've tried everything possible, including microsoft community.  It always sends me a code to outlook email, but while I can open outlook and see old messages, no code is there.  Then I can't even close out of it without turning off pc.  If I try any of the "help", it's the same problem with not getting codes or shutting out.  I don't believe there's a telephone number for microsoft.  Any suggestions?  I admit that I'm somewhat technically challenged.  :)  Thanks.

Have you tried clearing your cache and cookies?

Hello, Again.

Every day I do disk cleanup and the "optimize" on my anti-virus, which also has cleanups for disk, privacy and registry.  I don't do the registry because I don't really understand that one.  But, anyway, I still can't get into outlook.   I can't even post on the microsoft community because of the same problems mentioned before.  An Xfinity tech was just here because we were having pixel problems on the TV.  He corrected the outside wiring that he said was very old and had wires attached from three neighbors who were previous customers.  Hopefully, that fixed the TV pixel problems, but it didn't fix the outlook problem.

Hello, @rufus97 thank you for creating a post and understand wanting to be able to access Outlook. We're you able to see the question our great Xfinity Forums expert @Again had asked? If you have attempted to clear cache and cookies, was it successful with allowing Outlook to connect to the server?

Hello, Justin.

I just replied to Again.  Problem still exists.  I wish there was a way to speak with a human at microsoft.

@rufus97 thank you for the follow-up. Sorry to hear you're still experiencing the issues with Outlook, I'm glad to hear the technician was out and was able to get the older wiring replaced.

If you don't mind me asking, are you using Outlook as a 3rd party email client: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/email-client-programs-with-xfinity-email, https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/third-party-email-access ?
