Pegasus Email 4.8

I've installed Pegasus Email 4.8 on my Windows 10 pc.  I use POP3, 995, SSL, and SMTP, 587, SSL.  I can send mail, but can't receive.  When  I try to receive mail, the program shows POP3: connecting to mail.comcast.net, but nothing happens.

(I use Windows Live Mail on the same pc, with the same settings, and it works fine.)

Any ideas?

I didn't test sending but receiving pop 3 on 4.73, win 10 it would show as logged in, the number of messages and then freeze at downloading message 1.

I updated to Pegasus 4.8, checked the Pop3 settings, changed the pop 3 server address (receiving) from mail.comcast.net (which had been working until the last week) to pop3.comcast.net based on information on the internet from Comcast.  But nothing changed, still wouldn't download mail, just tell me how many new messages there were and freeze downloading msg 1.

It didn't make sense to do it, since Pegasus was showing as connected, logged in and got a message count but as a last resort I reentered the account password into Pegasus and boom, it started working again.

I can't say that will work for anyone else but maybe.

Hi,

I finally got Pegasus to both send and receive, but I forget what settings made it 'work'.  The reason I forget, is because I messed with it for a few days, and it was very temperamental.  Sometimes it would send, and sometimes only receive.  But most often, it didn't recognize that it had downloaded emails before, and would download them again.  If I tried to delete more than one email at a time, it would take minutes.  I finally uninstalled the program.  I think it's just too old to work well with modern OSs/ISPs.

I didn't need a mail client, I was just curious to try an older program like Pegasus or Eudora.
