Since migration to Yahoo, inbound mail delayed 6–26 minutes at Comcast inbound servers (resimta), not at Yahoo
Since my @comcast.net mailbox was migrated to Yahoo Mail, mail from large senders (Gmail, Experian/Salesforce) is delayed 6 to 26 minutes. I've checked the full headers. In every case, the delay is before Comcast's inbound servers (resimta-*.sys.comcast.net) accept the message. Once Comcast accepts it, the handoff to Yahoo takes about one second. Mail from a small private mail server is not delayed. This looks like deferral or throttling of large senders at Comcast's inbound MX, which is still Comcast's system rather than Yahoo's.
All times are UTC on Oct 6, 2026:
| Sender | Sender queued | Comcast accepted | Delay | Xfinity-QID |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Experian | 17:38:00 | 18:03:44 | 25m 44s | E9VrxrSnfOB5nE9Vwx0obD |
| Gmail | 17:40:22 | 17:47:12 | 6m 50s | E9Fpx6RPjX9qGE9FvxvuDO |
| Experian | 17:11:06 | 17:16:56 | 5m 50s | E8mdxxmloDfkcE8mexHEz0 |
| Small private server (control) | 17:39:52 | 17:39:55 | 3s | E98txQZcwZk49E98txxvpd |
The 25-minute Experian message carried a verification code that expires in 20 minutes, so it was useless by the time it arrived. Time-sensitive mail from banks, brokerages and credit bureaus is affected.
Could someone from the email engineering or postmaster team check the inbound SMTP logs for these QIDs and see why the first delivery attempts were deferred? I'm happy to send account details by private message.

If you've transitioned to Yahoo! Mail, there isn't anything we can do to help you. You'll need to get in touch with Yahoo Support.
