Temporarily blacklisted IP Address
I cannot reliably access my Comcast email via Gmail. When I go to Gmail Settings/Accounts and Import/Check Mail from other accounts, I get a message:
Authentication error. Mail from this account has not been retrieved since <time stamp>
When I look at the details for this I see:
Authentication error.
Server returned error "[AUTH] Temporarily blacklisted IP Address - try again later"
This problem occurs intermittently.
Any idea how to fix this problem?

Have you tried logging in to https://connect.xifinity.com/appsuite to check your email?

I have the same problem. Deleting the account in Gmail did not help. Now, when I try to add my Xfinity account back to the "Check mail from other accounts" list I get this message:
"Server denied POP3 access for the given username and password." Credentials are correct, and all was working fine until I got the initial blacklisted message.

Having the same issue. This is ridiculous. I delete the account from Gmail and re-configured it. It worked for a day, now back to the same message and not getting my emails.
Stop asking if we can get our email on your site, we can. But we don't want to cause it [Edited: "Language"]. Its a web interface and we have to log in ever [Edited: "Language"] time and then it doesn't even take us to our email. We have to click on our account then click email. It take a [Edited: "Language"] day. I wish I could get rid of your account and just have gone to Gmail. YOU need to fix this!!!

I get the same blacklisted IP address error message on my iPhone mail app that's connected to my comcast email account. I can SEND email but not receive them. Email works fine on webmail, which is very inconvenient. Complete pain! Never had this problem previously.

Same issue, since iOS 18.1 was released a couple of days ago, this issue has been happening to me, on my iPhone 14 Pro Max. I can't even log into e-mail using the xFinity app on the iPhone. Only way for me to check e-mail is by going to the www.xfinity.com site and accessing e-mail from my account via the web. With the Xfinity app on my phone, it just spins forever. I've tried resetting my password, but nothing changed. On the Apple mail client on my phone (iOS 18.1), I get the attached error. I've tried the disable/re-enabling of the 3rd party mail option, I've deleted and recreated the account on my phone, and all of these things only solve the issue for a very short while, and then the error comes back. My carrier is AT&T

My wife & I both also have this problem. We have missed many emails from friends and family because of it. Why is this happening? We each have had our 'comcast' email addresses for years. Now we are, unfortunately, looking at having to transition over to Gmail addresses, solely This is a huge hassle. [Edited: "Language"]?
I totally agree with Ben2025's comment above. When I open Gmail, Gmail opens. When I 'open' Xfinity email it is multiple steps to finally get to my email.
I open and close email multiple times a day. Xfinity makes this a real chore.
This is your doing, your issue, and it is up to you folks to make a fix for it.

I am having a similar issue. I travel to Canada and when I check Comcast email i get the server code alert notification, same as everyone else. I can NOT access Xfinity email on my phone or IPAD. I can only access on website.
Now, when I go outside of the location I am staying, all my emails download.
Any suggestions?

Has anyone found a solution? It’s happening with my mail app in iOS. I went as far as contacting the “abuse” email to try to get my up address “unblocked”. Their response was, “Of the one IPs you submitted, none were on our blocklist.” (see email below). Someone also suggest changing my email password. That didn’t work either. The ONLY way we can get our comcast.com email is turning off WiFi, or going through the non-user-friendly Xfinity website.
help?!
Your Comcast Blocklist Removal Request
Thank you for contacting Comcast Service Policy Assurance. We've received your request to remove your IP(s) from our blocklist. Of the one IPs you submitted, none were on our blocklist..

I don't usually comment on forums but reading this thread just makes me more and more frustrated. I am experiencing the same issue. I have multiple comcast accounts that I pull into Gmail and this is an issue with all of them. One account now has over 1100 emails backlogged that I cannot access except through the **shudder** xfinity browser interface. I 100% agree with earlier posters -- that interface is a joke compared to other modern email services. And, again just like most other posters, I have had these accounts for decades and just thinking of all the websites, business, friends, family, contacts, etc where I would have to update my email address makes me want to curl up in a ball and cry.
PLEASE xfinity -- actually read this thread!! This is happening to multiple users across multiple devices and environments. This is not an us problem, this is a you problem. If you can't help us, then escalate it to someone who can.

Hi, I have had the same issue as everybody else on this forum. Blacklisted ip address. I fixed it by logging into my router, going to security and then firewall. There were some blocked ports in the firewall settings, namely, Gmail ports 995, and 465, Imap port 993, Pop3 port 110, Pop3s port 995 and SMTP port 25. Once I unchecked these blocked ports, everything works fine now. I am able to download all of my email and I no longer receive the temporary blocked ip address error. Hope this helps

Same issue, opened a case with xfinity security team - first layer tried to tell me my modem is bad.. then escalated, pending a phone call, but i am certain XFINITY knows about this nonsense they are pulling on paying customers (we authenticate to received emails no anonymous relaying) - whitelist gmail IPs XFINITY!

Possible solution. I hunted for alternate settings for the POP configuration for Xfinity email. I can't recall what the original settings were, but I changed about a week ago and it seems that Comcast emails are coming through to GMail with no trouble. (I haven't been checking, but I see emails regularly.) Here's what I have used:
POP server: pop3.comcast.net with port 995 and "always use SSL when retrieving mail"

Is this going to be fixed?
We are paying Xfinity money and we can't access or email thru Gmail. Why?
