I have the same question. My reason is because the Xfinity/Comcast email webpage is unreliable during the day. Almost daily it will not be available at some point during the day. The duration of the outage varies. It doesn't matter whether I'm using a browser to access my email or the Xfinity app. Thanks!

Go to gmail.com. Click on the gear icon ---> Accounts and Import ---> Import mail and contacts
Make sure you read the Learn more because it has valuable information you'll need to move to gmail.
