Unable to log into email through iPhone
Hello,
I am trying to log into my Xfinity email on my iPhone, but whenever I try to add my account, it says that the password for my iMap server is incorrect. I have tried calling your help line, but I am unable to get through to a person, and the automated system has been unable to help. Please let me know how I can fix this, or provide a phone number that will connect me with an operator.
Thank You,

Thank you for reaching out to us @user_a8v427! Could you please reset/change the password for your Xfinity email following the steps in this link here?
After changing the password, please log out/remove the email from your iPhone’s mail app. Then please make sure your email has third party access enabled. To enable third-party access to apps such as Apple mail, please:
After changing the password, deleting/removing the email from your iPhone’s mail app settings, and enabling third-party access we will want to follow the steps in this article here to make sure the Xfinity email is added using the required settings for the email app on your iPhone.

Same problem. Comcast fix (log into Xfinity email via a browser, uncheck third party app access under email security, try Apple Mail connection which should fail, then re-enable third party app access) worked briefly but then the problem came back.
Supposedly, the problem is the Comcast/Xfinity server, where their backend disables third party app access (such as Apple Mail and other email clients such as Thunderbird). This is a recent bug apparently introduced around 12/22/24 or a few days earlier.
The misleading error message from Apple Mail (“incorrect password”) is false because Mail actually logs in correctly & retrieves email, initially. Minutes later it fails with that incorrect message, although the problem (per Comcast) is allowing 3rd party apps to access their email servers, not your login credentials. Sadly, the Comcast fix is temporary: the problem comes back, repeatedly.

Having the same issue. Got a new iPhone 16 and unable to send mail but can receive. All Comcast forums have been unhelpful and all show the same "solutions" with IMAP/POP outgoing server nonsense. Nothing works. Not to mention it is impossible to reach anyone who can help. PLEASE help resolve this Comcast.

Currently on the phone for approximately 2 hours speaking to the third person about the same issue. They want to blame Apple email application. I don’t think that is the issue especially after reading these issues.

psa——Anyone having issue with your Xfinity/comcast email not connecting to your iPhone third party apps such as the Mail app I may have the fix. First turn off wifi. Log into Xfinity account and reset your password. Delete xfinity/comcast mail account from iPhone. Then add that email account with the new password.

I’m having the same issue. I got a new iPhone 16 at the end of December. All was fine until today when I get the same error messages as above. I’ve tried everything outlined above with no resolution! Please advise on other trouble shooting options. I checked unchecked and rechecked app access. Deleted email. Changed password. Tired to reinstall and cannot. I’ve been trying to figure this out for a few hours no luck. Super frustrated
